    These are worth checking if you’re already planning to book a hotel, rental car, cruise, or activity. Just remember that the advertised cash-back rate may only apply to certain types of bookings.

    And before booking a hotel through a third-party platform, consider whether you’ll be giving up hotel loyalty points, elite-night credits, or status benefits. Sometimes booking directly is still the better deal, even with a generous cash-back offer.

    Earn Amex or Bilt Points Instead of Cash Back

    Rakuten lets eligible members earn American Express Membership Rewards or Bilt Points instead of cash back.

    With Amex, 1% cash back translates to 1 Membership Rewards point per dollar spent. So, a 30% cash-back offer could earn you 30X Membership Rewards points per dollar spent.

    Bilt’s conversion rate depends on your elite status:

    • Blue: 50 Bilt Points per $1 in cash back
    • Silver, Gold, and Platinum: 100 Bilt Points per $1 in cash back

    That means a 30% offer could earn 15X Bilt Points for Blue members or 30X for Silver members and above.

    Fly to Fiji From Just 28,000 American Airlines Miles

    If Fiji is on your travel bucket list, you might need fewer American Airlines miles to get there than you think.

    Earlier this year (and with little fanfare), American Airlines and Fiji Airways lowered the starting price of economy award tickets on nonstop flights between North America and Fiji from 40,000 to just 28,000 AAdvantage miles each way.

    That’s a 30% reduction from the previous pricing floor, and we’re finding plenty of dates with tickets available at the lower rate.

    Book Fiji Airways Flights From 28K Miles

    The reduced pricing applies to eligible nonstop Fiji Airways flights to Nadi (NAN). In our searches, we’ve found economy tickets starting at 28,000 AAdvantage miles one-way between Fiji and three North American gateways:

    • Los Angeles (LAX)
    • San Francisco (SFO)
    • Vancouver (YVR)

    For example, we’re seeing nonstop flights from San Francisco to Nadi for 28,000 miles plus $5.60 in taxes and fees. Coming back the other way, taxes and fees are closer to $117.

    The lowest prices are available on select dates, including some close-in departures (flights leaving within the next few days or weeks) and dates during Fiji’s traditionally rainier season, which generally runs from November through April.

    It’s also worth knowing that Fiji Airways award pricing through American Airlines is “enhanced,” meaning prices can fluctuate above that floor depending on factors such as demand.

    One catch is that the 28,000-mile rate is limited to nonstop flights. Adding a connection (say, Phoenix to Los Angeles to Nadi) brings the starting price back to 40,000 miles.

    So, you might be able to save miles by booking a separate positioning flight to LAX, SFO, or YVR. Just allow plenty of time between flights.

    Prefer to fly up front? Business class awards still start at 80,000 AAdvantage miles each way. Those rates didn’t drop when the economy ones did.

    How to Get American Airlines Miles

    If you don’t have enough AAdvantage miles to book one of these flights, you can earn more with a co-branded American Airlines credit card or by transferring Citi ThankYou Points to American Airlines.

    The transfer ratio depends on which Citi card you have. Eligible Citi ThankYou Points-earning cards with annual fees offer 1:1 transfers.

    Rakuten is a free shopping portal that lets you earn cash back or points on purchases you’re already making, on top of the rewards you earn with your credit cards.

    And through the end of the year, new members can earn $50 or up to 5,000 points after spending just $50 through a referral link.

    Here’s how the offer works.

    How to Earn the $50 Rakuten Bonus

    Rakuten partners with more than 3,500 brands, allowing you to earn rewards when shopping online or at participating stores.

    At a glance, the current referral offer looks like this:

    • Sign-up bonus: $50 in cash back or points
    • Spending requirement: $50 in qualifying purchases (within 90 days of joining)
    • Eligibility: New Rakuten members located in the 50 U.S. states or Washington, D.C.

    Once you’ve created an account, shop through Rakuten at participating retailers. You can meet the $50 spending requirement with one purchase or multiple qualifying purchases within 90 days.

    For everyday use, Rakuten also offers a browser extension that reminds you to activate cash back when shopping online. Alternatively, you can use the Rakuten app to shop, track your rewards, and find in-store cash-back offers.

    After your qualifying purchases are confirmed, you’ll receive the referral bonus through Rakuten’s quarterly payment schedule. Depending on your selected payout method, you can receive cash back through PayPal, check, Samsung Pay, or earn Amex Membership Rewards or Bilt Points instead.

    Those latter two options are particularly interesting.

    Earn Amex Membership Rewards Points With Rakuten

    One of Rakuten’s most useful features for points and miles enthusiasts is its partnership with American Express.

    Eligible Amex cardmembers can link their Membership Rewards account to Rakuten and choose to earn points instead of cash back.

    The conversion rate is 100 Membership Rewards points per $1 in Rakuten cash back. So, if a retailer offers 10% cash back, you can instead earn 10 Membership Rewards points per dollar spent.

    That means the $50 referral bonus could be worth 5,000 Membership Rewards points if you choose to receive your rewards that way.

    To get started, visit your Rakuten account settings, select Membership Rewards as your payment method, and link your eligible Amex account.

    Rakuten transfers confirmed Membership Rewards points quarterly, on February 15, May 15, August 15, and November 15. You’ll need at least 501 confirmed points for a transfer; smaller balances roll over to the next payment date.

    And remember, these points are earned on top of the rewards you already earn with your credit card (which doesn’t even have to be an Amex card).

    Earn Bilt Points With Rakuten

    Rakuten also lets members earn Bilt Points instead of cash back.

    To enable this option, you’ll need to link your Rakuten and Bilt accounts through Bilt’s website or app. Your email addresses must match on both accounts.

    Once linked, Rakuten will convert your confirmed cash back into Bilt Points. The conversion rate depends on your Bilt elite status at the time of payout:

    • Blue members: 50 Bilt Points per $1 in cash back
    • Silver, Gold, and Platinum members: 100 Bilt Points per $1 in cash back

    That means the $50 referral bonus could be worth 2,500 Bilt Points for Blue members or 5,000 Bilt Points for Silver members and above.

    Bilt Points are transferred quarterly, following Rakuten’s regular payment schedule. You’ll need at least $5.01 in confirmed cash back for a payout.

    This sale isn’t sticking around for long.

    The discount applies to eligible Main and EvenMore fares for travel between November 2, 2026, and February 10, 2027, with a handful of restrictions.

    How to Get 15% Off JetBlue Flights

    To use the offer, head to JetBlue’s website, search for an eligible nonstop flight, and enter promo code TREAT15 when booking.

    Here are the key terms to know:

    • Book by: October 28, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. ET
    • Travel dates: November 2, 2026 – February 10, 2027
    • Discount: 15% off the base airfare, excluding taxes and fees
    • Eligible fares: Main and EvenMore, including Base and Flex options
    • Excluded travel days: Fridays and Sundays
    • Blackout dates: November 19–30, December 17–January 4, and January 18
    • Not eligible: Connecting flights, transatlantic flights, Mint, BlueFirst, award flights (see below), and Cash + Points bookings

    The discount is valid for new bookings made directly through JetBlue and can’t be combined with other offers.

    Keep in mind that the 15% discount only applies to the pre-tax fare, so your total savings will be a little less than 15% of the final ticket price.

    What About Tickets Booked With Points?

    JetBlue’s terms explicitly exclude award flights from the promotion. However, in our searches, we found that applying the promo code can also reduce the number of TrueBlue points needed for a flight.

    That’s likely because JetBlue’s award prices generally track the cash price of a ticket. When the promo code reduces the cash fare, the points price may drop, too.

    For example, a JetBlue flight between New York (JFK) and Boston (BOS) on December 1 costs $169 in Main, or 11,900 points without the promo code.

    Applying TREAT15 brings the cash fare down to $146, or 10,100 points. That’s a savings of 1,800 points on the same flight.

    Fly Alaska, Ski Free: 9 Resorts Offering Perks This Winter

    Alaska Airlines’ ski-and-snowboard perks are back for another winter.

    The idea is pretty simple: fly Alaska to a participating destination, show your boarding pass, and unlock free or discounted perks on the mountain.

    Alaska calls the promotion Atmos Rewards Alpine Getaways (though you might also know it as the Fly Alaska, Ski Free program). The returning offer gives Atmos Rewards members access to benefits at participating resorts throughout the 2026–2027 ski season.

    How It Works

    According to Alaska’s ski page, you’ll need to present your inbound boarding pass and Atmos Rewards number, either through the Alaska app or by email, at the participating resort.

    Alaska doesn’t explicitly mention award tickets. However, since the terms require an inbound boarding pass rather than proof of a cash purchase, flights booked with Atmos Rewards points should qualify, too.

    Offers, blackout dates, and redemption procedures vary by resort, so check the details for your destination before traveling.

    Where You Can Use It

    Alaska’s current list includes nine participating resorts, each offering different benefits.

    • Alyeska Resort (Anchorage, ANC): Ski free on arrival day.
    • Arctic Valley Ski Area (Anchorage, ANC): Free same-day lift ticket.
    • Bogus Basin (Boise, BOI): Free same-day lift ticket.
    • Crystal Mountain (Seattle, SEA): First Tracks access and complimentary summit coffee on select Atmos Members Days for eligible members during the 2026–2027 season.
    • Eaglecrest Ski Area (Juneau, JNU): Free same-day lift ticket.
    • Jackson Hole Mountain Resort (Jackson Hole, JAC): Free full-day lift ticket.
    • Palisades Tahoe (Reno-Tahoe, RNO): Complimentary half-day lift tickets from March 1 through April 30, 2027.
    • Schweitzer Mountain Resort (Spokane, GEG): Ski free on arrival day.
    • Sun Peaks Resort (Kelowna, YLW): Ski free on arrival day or the following day.

    Most participating resorts offer a free lift ticket on the day you arrive, provided you show your boarding pass and ID. Crystal Mountain and Palisades Tahoe have more specific eligibility requirements, so pay particular attention to their terms.

    Pack the Skis Without the Oversize Fee

    There’s a baggage perk worth knowing about, too.

    When flying Alaska, properly packed skis and snowboards can exceed the usual 62-inch linear size limit, up to 115 inches, without incurring an oversize baggage fee. As long as the bag weighs 50 pounds or less, you’ll pay the standard checked-bag fee.

    Alaska also counts one pair of skis and poles, or one snowboard, plus a separate boot-and-helmet bag as a single checked bag. However, that additional bag can’t contain clothing or other gear.

    Overweight fees still apply to bags exceeding 50 pounds, and Alaska notes that baggage policies are subject to change.

    You don’t necessarily need to earn hotel points to save money on a hotel stay. Sometimes, buying them outright can be cheaper than paying the cash rate.

    That’s the opportunity with IHG One Rewards’ latest points sale, which offers up to a 100% bonus on purchased points. At the highest bonus tier, you’ll pay just 0.50 cents per point.

    Of course, that doesn’t mean everyone should buy. The trick is finding a hotel where the numbers work in your favor.

    When Buying IHG Points Makes Sense

    Say you’re looking at an IHG hotel that costs $600 per night or 100,000 points.

    At 0.50 cents per point, buying the 100,000 points would cost $500. That’s $100 worth of savings on the same room.

    But if the cash rate were $400, buying points would actually cost you more.

    The math behind this is pretty straightforward.

    Points needed × price per point = cost to buy the points

    There’s another consideration for eligible IHG credit cardholders. The fourth Reward Night free benefit lets you book four consecutive award nights while paying the points price for just three. That can make purchasing points even more attractive for stays of at least four nights.

    Just be sure to compare the same room, dates, and cancellation terms. Taxes, hotel fees, and the rewards you’d earn on a paid stay can also affect the calculation.

    Don’t Buy Points Just Because They’re on Sale

    I’d approach this promotion backward. Find the hotel you want first, then check whether buying the points needed to book it costs less than paying cash.

    Sometimes it will. Other times, it won’t.

    And with IHG running points sales fairly regularly, there’s little reason to stock up without a specific redemption in mind.

    American Airlines Offers Business Travelers Up to 50,000 Bonus Miles

    American Airlines has launched a new promotion offering eligible business travelers up to 50,000 bonus AAdvantage miles on flights through the end of 2026.

    The offer awards 5,000 bonus miles per eligible flight segment to or from the New York City area, Los Angeles, or Chicago.

    The promotion appears to be targeted at select corporate and AAdvantage Business travelers, so not every AAdvantage member will qualify.

    How to Earn 5,000 Bonus Miles Per Flight

    Eligible travelers must register, book, and complete their flights by December 31, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. CT.

    The promotion covers flights to or from five airports:

    • New York Kennedy (JFK)
    • New York LaGuardia (LGA)
    • Newark (EWR)
    • Los Angeles (LAX)
    • Chicago O’Hare (ORD)

    You’ll earn 5,000 bonus miles per eligible segment, up to a maximum of 50,000 miles. For example, a nonstop round trip between Los Angeles and Dallas would earn 10,000 bonus miles.

    A few restrictions apply:

    • Registration is required before booking. Previously ticketed flights won’t qualify.
    • Only American-marketed flights qualify. Basic Economy tickets and flights booked with miles are excluded.
    • Business travel identifiers are required. Corporate travelers must have their company’s identifiers attached to their reservations and AAdvantage Business travelers must have their business account information included.

    Worth noting: bonus miles won’t count as Loyalty Points, so they won’t help you qualify for elite status.

    Check Your Eligibility Before Booking

    Having an AAdvantage Business account or booking through a corporate travel program doesn’t necessarily guarantee eligibility, so you’ll need to log in and check your account.

    If you’ve received the offer, it’s worth registering before booking any qualifying flights. A couple of business trips could earn you thousands of additional AAdvantage miles.

    Singapore Airlines Spontaneous Escapes Offers 30% Off November Flights

    Singapore Airlines just released its latest round of Spontaneous Escapes. This month, the airline is offering 30% off select flights booked with KrisFlyer miles for travel in November 2026.

    The monthly promotion covers destinations across Singapore Airlines’ network, including several routes connecting the United States with Europe and Asia.

    To take advantage of the discounted rates, KrisFlyer members must book by October 31, 2026, for travel between November 1 and 30, 2026.

    What to Know Before Booking

    Spontaneous Escapes discounts apply to both one-way and round-trip bookings, although all flights on a promotional round-trip ticket must fall within the eligible travel period.

    Most importantly, though, bookings made under this promotion cannot be changed or canceled, even if the ticket is entirely unused.

    Don’t have KrisFlyer miles? Singapore Airlines is a 1:1 transfer partner of American Express Membership Rewards, Chase Ultimate Rewards, Citi ThankYou Rewards, and Capital One miles. All four transfer at a 1:1 ratio.

    Marriott Bonvoy points can also be transferred to KrisFlyer, though at a 3:1 ratio (plus a 5,000-mile bonus for every 60,000 points you transfer).

    For travelers with flexible November plans, Spontaneous Escapes is a useful way to put your KrisFlyer miles to use. Just check the eligible flight numbers and blackout dates before transferring points or making a reservation.

    Earn Extra Aeroplan Points on Hyatt Stays Through February 2027

    World of Hyatt and Air Canada Aeroplan launched a new promotion that lets members earn points with both programs on the same hotel stay.

    Through February 14, 2027, eligible members can earn 1.5 bonus Aeroplan points per $1 spent on qualifying Hyatt stays, on top of the World of Hyatt points they’d normally earn.

    To participate, you’ll need to link your loyalty accounts and register for the promotion by November 11, 2026.

    How the Hyatt and Aeroplan Promotion Works

    World of Hyatt members normally earn 5 base points per $1 spent on eligible hotel stays (or 2.5 points per $1 at Hyatt Studios).

    With this promotion, members can earn an additional 1.5 Aeroplan points per $1 spent and collect rewards in both programs on the same stay.

    For example, a qualifying $1,000 Hyatt stay would earn:

    • 5,000 World of Hyatt base points
    • 1,500 bonus Aeroplan points

    That’s before accounting for any additional Hyatt points earned through elite status or other eligible promotions.

    The offer applies to participating Hyatt properties worldwide. Stays must be completed between October 14, 2026, and February 14, 2027, after registration.

    Only the room occupied by the member qualifies. Bonus Aeroplan points may take up to eight weeks to post and won’t count toward Aeroplan Status Qualifying Credits.

    For travelers with upcoming Hyatt stays, this is an easy opportunity to earn additional airline points without giving up their usual World of Hyatt earnings.
