How CardRight Helps You Finally Take Control of All Your Credit Cards

If you have more than one credit card, you’ve probably felt it, that moment of confusion at checkout when you wonder which card earns the most for this purchase. Or maybe you’ve realized too late that your $200 travel credit expired last week.

It’s not that you don’t know your benefits. It’s that there’s too much to keep track of, rotating categories, new bonuses, annual credits, bank rules, and limited-time offers. That’s where CardRight comes in.

Built for Real Credit Card Users

CardRight was founded by credit experts who saw how overwhelming it can be to manage multiple cards. The app was designed to help everyday users stay on top of their rewards, maximize bonuses, and avoid missing out on perks they’ve already earned.

Unlike spreadsheets or manual tracking, CardRight pulls everything into one clear, organized dashboard, making it simple to see what’s active, what’s expiring soon, and where you’re missing value.

    Turn Confusion into Clarity

Once you add your cards, CardRight starts working automatically. It gives you a 360° view of your entire credit card setup, including:

    • Bonuses and expiration dates: See live countdowns for every bonus or benefit before it expires.
    • Best card recommendations: See which of your cards earns the most points or cashback in each category.
    • Credits and perks: Track your travel credits, dining offers, and other recurring benefits so you never forget to use them.
    • Eligibility tracking: Check your eligibility against common bank rules before applying for a new card.
    • Notifications and alerts: Receive reminders for upcoming renewals, category changes, and expiring bonuses.

Think of it as your digital assistant for managing rewards, smart enough to remember every perk and deadline, so you don’t have to.

    Simple Setup, Smarter Management

CardRight’s onboarding is fast. You simply add your cards, and the app does the rest. Within minutes, you’ll have a full overview of your cards, current bonuses, and credits in one place.

It works seamlessly across iOS, Android, and desktop, so you can check your progress from anywhere, at home, at checkout, or even mid-flight.

    Security You Can Count On

CardRight takes privacy seriously, using secure encryption and multiple safeguards to keep your information protected. Your card information stays private, CardRight only tracks the details you choose to manage.

    Why It Matters

  • Jetting for 350K: My JetBlue 25th Anniversary Mileage Run(Part I)

Jetting for 350K: My JetBlue 25th Anniversary Mileage Run(Part I)

I’ve been obsessed with miles and points for the past 25 years. At one point, I was an active member of more than 30 frequent flyer programs (now down to about 10) and even held top elite status in nine programs in a single year. Surprisingly, I was never a JetBlue member and had never even flown them.

When I first heard about JetBlue’s 25th Anniversary promotion(Earn 150,000 miles for 15 destinations, 350,000 for 20, and 25 years Mosaic Status for 25 with connecting airport counts), I didn’t plan to participate. Then I noticed something that changed everything: miles redemption tickets also counted toward the challenge.

    Planning and Preparation

The goal of this trip was not to maximize earnings or redemptions, nor to hope that JetBlue Mosaic status might someday convert to United Silver if they ever merge within the next 25 years. It was simply to visit some fun places, earn guaranteed miles, and have a good time.

Here are five things I did during the planning and preparation:

    1. Getting JetBlue co-branded cards ready

I grabbed the JetBlue Business Card with an 80,000-point bonus, enough to cover the second half of my trip. The bonus posts within 30 days after meeting the spending requirement and paying the annual fee, not based on the statement cycle.

    Perks included:

    • 10% miles back on redemptions
    • Group A boarding
    • Free checked bag

With those benefits, 5,000 anniversary miles, and an amazing airline (more on that later), I plan to keep the card long-term.

    2. Get points ready from Chase

Only Chase and Citi offer 1:1 transfers to JetBlue, so I transferred 100K Chase points to start the trip.

    3. PointsYeah Daydream Explorer

JetBlue’s route map is not always up to date with seasonal flights, so using PointsYeah Daydream Explorer saved me a lot of guesswork on where they actually fly.

    4. PointsYeah Points Price Alert

This is a great feature. Since JetBlue tickets can be canceled and rebooked for free, about half of my bookings ended up dropping in price later.

    5. Hotel Alerts

Many hotels were sold out during the trip. Without Hotel Alerts, I wouldn’t have known when rooms opened up again for redemption.

    6. Get Status Matched

I matched my Platinum Pro status to Mosaic 2 for the run, but the co-branded card is enough for me. The perks are generous enough to make the flight comfortable.

    Flights

    Part I

I split the trip into three parts so I could rest in between and wait for both the credit card bonus and the first 15-destination bonus to kick in.

    DCA-BOS-PHL9800
    PHL-BOS-MVY9,600
    ACK-LGA4,900
    JFK-ROC5,700
    ROC-JFK-RDU7,100
RDU-JFK-PWM0(Flight delayed, used AS miles for AA last minutes instead)
    PWM-JFK-DCA10,100
    Total47,200 miles before 10% rebate
    Total Airports8

I had never flown JetBlue before, so I didn’t know what to expect. After my Part I run, I have to say this is one of the best airlines I have ever flown

    • Seat pitch is wider than most airlines, 32–34 inches in standard economy. I didn’t even need an Even More Space seat to feel comfortable.
    • All seats have AC power, USB, and Type-C ports.
    • Free high-speed Wi-Fi with one-click access. I even had a video call with my team without any issues.
    • Four types of complimentary snacks.

I don’t usually get excited about airline cabins anymore, but JetBlue is an exception. Maybe it’s because the aircraft made it easy to work onboard and stay connected with my team, making weekday flights guilt-free. lol.

I’m really looking forward to Part II and Part III of the run.

    Hotels

    Philadelphia

    Sonesta Select Philadelphia Airport

    One-Bedroom Suite – 17,500 Points
Many Sonesta properties offer higher room categories at the same price. Sonesta and Bank of America have a co-branded credit card, though new applications are not being accepted right now.

    Martha’s; Vineyard

Edgar Hotel Martha’s Vineyard, an Ascend Collection Hotel

    1 King Bed – 45,000 Choice Points
It was peak October weekend, with most rooms on the island costing $400 or more per night. I’ve had the Choice co-branded card for years, but you can also transfer from Citi at a 1:2 ratio, which is great value.

    Nantucket

    Faraway Hotel Nantucket

Not many point options here, so I used Airbnb instead with a 25% gift card I bought at Lowe’s. I also earned some Delta miles by booking through Airbnb. You can earn Avios too, but I prefer programs with flexible cancellation. It was pouring rain when I visited, so I’ll probably go back another time.

    New York

    Hyatt Place LGA Airport

Standard Room – Category 4 Certificate
This hotel moved to a higher category this year, but it’s still bookable with a Category 1–4 certificate, especially on weekends when rates are 18,000 points per night.

Hyatt Regency JFK Airport at Resorts World New York

Standard Room – 15,000 Points (upgraded to a suite)
This newly opened property is very close to JFK, but unfortunately, there’s no shuttle. It’s a great hotel, though I didn’t get to experience much of it since I arrived late and left early.

Two promotions triggered while staying there:
    1. Casino: Earn 777 Hyatt points at casino hotels.
    2. Hyatt Regency: Earn up to 20,000 Hyatt bonus points when booking through the app.

    Hyatt House Shelton

Standard Room – 9,500 Points. The hotel was sold out that night.

    Rochester

    Hyatt Regency Rochester

    Standard Room – 5,000 Points
The hotel was full, so I felt lucky to get a room. Haha! Part of the Hyatt Regency promotion and one of the few Category 1 Hyatts in the United States.

    Raleigh/Durham

    Hyatt House Raleigh Durham Airport

Studio King – 6,500 Points, upgraded to a 1-Bedroom Suite.

    Portland, Camden, Acarida Maine

Camden Harbour Inn, an SLH Hotel

Junior Suite – 100,000 Hilton Points per night
This was the best hotel of the first leg of the trip, and I think it’s one of the best boutique hotels in the country. Complimentary breakfast included lobster benedict and mimosas.

    (Please forgive my photography skill)

    Under Canvas Arcadia

Deluxe Tent – 40,000 Hyatt Points, with 15% rebate promotion
It was cold at night, and honestly, I preferred my $50 per night luxury tent in Senegal better, you can even walk with Lion there lol

    Best Western Freeport Inn

    Standard Room – 20,000 Points
I still have some Best Western points and like them, but it would be better if they joined a transferable program someday.

    Fun times on the road

I still had to work, so not much happened at PHL, ROC, or RDU, other than working from the hotels.

    New York

Still working, but with a twist. It was the weekend Amex refreshed it’s new benefits on personal Platinum cards, so I stayed busy visiting several Resy restaurants, Lululemon, and Saks.

It was also Dua Lipa’s New York tour! Thanks to TopCashback, StubHub, and my Chase Sapphire Reserve $150 StubHub credit, I got to see her concert for almost nothing

    Maine

This was definitely my favorite stop, maybe because I’m a lobster guy. I went to Rockport Lobster several days in a row for fresh ones.

Stay tuned for Part II of my JetBlue 25th Anniversary Mileage Run, coming soon.

  • Is This the Best Travel Credit Card for Digital Nomads in 2025?

Is This the Best Travel Credit Card for Digital Nomads in 2025?

Most premium travel credit cards are designed for people who live in the United States and take the occasional trip abroad. They reward vacations or business trips, but they do not reward the reality of living abroad. Digital nomads pay rent in pesos, coffee in euros, Grab rides in baht, and coworking spaces billed in rupiah. For nomads, those everyday purchases are almost always foreign transactions. Nearly every premium card on the market lumps them into the dreaded “other” category that earns a flat 1X.

The Atmos™ Rewards Summit Visa Infinite® flips that on its head. Instead of treating foreign spend as filler, it makes it the centerpiece. With 3X on all foreign purchases, a built-in path to oneworld status, and award redemptions that remain some of the best in the game, the Summit feels like the first premium card actually designed for life lived outside the U.S.

The card carries a $395 annual fee, which is in line with other premium cards, but delivers a very different kind of value for nomads. It is available to U.S. residents, but unlike Amex or Chase products, it was built specifically with global spending in mind.

Why 3X on Foreign Purchases Matters for Digital Nomads

Digital nomad working from the beach underneath palm trees

The Summit Visa Infinite® changes the game. Every single non-USD transaction earns 3X Atmos points. Whether it is your rent in Lisbon, your morning latte in Paris, or your Grab ride in Bangkok, it all counts and it all earns like a premium category. Dining worldwide and Alaska or Hawaiian purchases also earn 3X, while everything else earns 1X.

The difference this makes is massive:

    • Spend $2,500 per month abroad = $30,000 per year
    • Earn 90,000 Atmos points
    • Add a 10% Bank of America bonus and the total is nearly 100,000 points
    • The same spend on Sapphire Reserve or Amex Platinum = 30,000 points

That is the gap between economy and business class award flights.

For nomads, this is not just a perk. It is a redefinition of what everyday spend means.

A Launch Boost With the Welcome Offer

Digital Nomad working from a cafe

What makes the Summit even more powerful is how quickly you can build a balance. The card is currently offering a 100,000-point welcome bonus after spending $6,000 in the first three months. For a nomad, that threshold could be met with a few months of rent and daily expenses abroad.

Layer that bonus on top of what the card earns naturally, and the numbers get impressive fast. A year of living abroad with $30,000 in foreign purchases would generate about 90,000 points from spend alone. Add the welcome offer, and you finish year one with close to 200,000 points. If you’re wondering what else is out there right now, our PointsYeah September Picks list highlights today’s most compelling travel card offers.

That total is enough for two round-trip business class tickets to Asia, or four round-trip tickets to Europe, with points still left over. For a nomad, it means your lifestyle abroad funds almost all of your long-haul premium travel in the same year you pick up the card.

    Status Without Mileage Runs

Happy digital nomad waiting to board her flight

Elite status has always been elusive for nomads. You are traveling constantly, but not in the ways U.S. airlines want you to. Too many one-way tickets, too many discount carriers, too many routes outside the system. The Summit fixes that by giving cardholders a direct path to elite recognition through everyday spend.

Each year you automatically receive 10,000 status points just for holding the card. On top of that, the card earns 1 status point for every $2 spent, which means your groceries, your rent, and even your late-night cab rides are moving you closer to status.

Here’s how that looks over a year:

Annual SpendStatus Points Earned+10K BonusTotalAtmos Tieroneworld
    $24,00012,00010,00022,000SilverRuby
    $40,00020,00010,00030,000Just shy of Gold
    $60,00030,00010,00040,000GoldSapphire
    $100,00050,00010,00060,000Near PlatinumEmerald with some flying

Gold is the sweet spot: oneworld Sapphire means alliance-wide lounge access, priority check-in, and priority boarding. For a nomad, that’s achievable entirely on spend. Other cards also offer valuable ways to earn perks through spend, see our PointsYeah September Picks for this month’s top options.

Starting in 2026, Atmos will let members choose how they qualify for elite status: by miles flown, by qualifying spend, or by flight segments. With the Summit card feeding status points from everyday purchases, that flexibility becomes especially powerful for nomads.

Redemption Sweet Spots That Still Deliver

Person sitting on a short haul flight

Points are only as good as what you can redeem them for, and Atmos still offers some of the richest fixed-value awards in the industry.

    • U.S. → Europe in Business Class: From 45,000 points
    • U.S. → Asia in Business Class: From 60,000 points
    • U.S. → South America in Business Class: From 35,000 points

Compare that to competitors charging 70K, 80K, even 100K for the same routes, and Atmos looks like a throwback to the golden age of award travel.

For nomads, this matters. The 90,000 points you earn from a year of foreign spend can already get you up to 2 business class seats to Europe or fly you all the way to Asia in lie flat comfort. And because Atmos partners with carriers like Qatar, Japan Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Iberia, and LATAM, you’re not just redeeming for flights, you’re redeeming for premium experiences that would otherwise cost thousands.

How Atmos Companion Awards Benefit Traveling Couples and Nomads

Travel companions waiting for flight at airport

The Summit card sweetens the pot with companion awards that go far beyond typical airline certificates. Each year, you receive a Global 25K Companion Award, which discounts a companion’s award ticket by up to 25,000 points. Spend $60,000 in a card year and you unlock the Global 100K Companion Award, which can shave an incredible 100,000 points off a companion ticket.

Unlike many airline companion passes, these certificates apply even to premium cabins. That means you could book yourself into a 45,000-point business class seat to Europe, then use the 25K certificate to slash your partner’s redemption nearly in half. At the 100K level, you are looking at savings that make aspirational business-class travel genuinely realistic for two people.

Travel Day Perks That Make Life Easier for Digital Nomads

    women enjoying her lounge acces

For digital nomads, travel days are rarely glamorous. They mean early mornings, crowded terminals, and the occasional delay that can derail your plans. The Summit doesn’t pretend to fix all of that, but it does give you a set of tools that make those days far less punishing.

Start with the lounges. Every year you get eight Alaska Lounge passes, issued two per quarter, and through 2026 each visit comes with a complimentary cocktail or upgraded bar item. For a nomad hopping between cities, that can mean the difference between hours in a crowded gate area and a quiet place to work, recharge, or simply decompress.

When you do fly Alaska, the card makes the experience smoother with a handful of practical perks:

    • Eight inflight Wi-Fi passes per year (issued quarterly) to stay connected midair.
    • Your first checked bag free for you and up to six companions.
    • Preferred boarding whenever you book with the card.
    • $50 credit automatically if your Alaska-marketed flight is delayed more than two hours.
    • Same-day confirmed changes waived, saving you the usual fifty-dollar fee.

Beyond Alaska, the Summit still travels with you. Every four years, you receive up to $120 in credits for Global Entry or TSA PreCheck, which helps you move through airports more efficiently. And because it’s a Visa Infinite product, the card carries a suite of protections you can count on anywhere in the world, including:

    • Trip cancellation and interruption insurance
    • Trip delay reimbursement
    • Baggage delay coverage and lost luggage protection
    • Auto rental collision coverage
    • Purchase protection and extended warranty
    • Emergency evacuation assistance

Individually, none of these benefits are headline-worthy. But together, they create something far more valuable for nomads: peace of mind on the days when everything feels out of your control. And if you’re curious about other cards that also deliver strong perks for travel days, check our PointsYeah September Picks roundup.

The Perfect Pair: Summit + Venture X

Summit and Venture X, the perfect card combo

On its own, the Atmos Summit is one of the most compelling premium cards available. But pair it with the Capital One Venture X, and you’ve built the strongest two-card strategy a nomad can carry.

Venture X effectively cancels out its $395 annual fee with a $300 Capital One Travel credit plus a 10,000-mile anniversary bonus. It also provides Priority Pass membership and Capital One Lounge access, filling the lounge gap where Alaska doesn’t reach. Earning is simple: 2X everywhere, 5X on flights, and 10X on hotels and cars booked through Capital One Travel.

The play is straightforward: put all foreign purchases and dining on the Summit to maximize 3X earning and elite status progress. Use Venture X when booking flights or hotels through Capital One Travel, which triggers the $300 credit and earns 5X or 10X. Rely on Venture X for global lounge access, as well as for everyday purchases back in the States, where Summit would only earn 1X but Venture X gives you 2X. Together, the two cards cover every angle of nomad life: daily spend, aspirational redemptions, status progress, lounge access, and fee offsets.

    A Year in the Life

    Digital Nomad Living Abroad

Consider a freelance designer splitting her year between Medellín, bali, and Lisbon. She spends about $2,500 per month on living expenses abroad, including rent, groceries, and daily purchases, which adds up to $30,000 annually. On Atmos, that everyday spend alone earns 90,000 points. Add in another $10,000 across dining, nights out, and travel experiences, and her total annual spend climbs to $40,000, which translates into 120,000 Atmos points in a single year.

On the status side, $40,000 in card spend generates 20,000 status points. With the 10,000 anniversary boost, she finishes the year with 30,000, just shy of Gold. A few flights on Alaska or partners would push her into oneworld Sapphire, unlocking global lounge access and priority treatment.

On the redemption side, 120,000 points is enough for round-trip business class tickets to Europe, or for a one-way in business to Asia with a healthy remainder for a South America hop. All of it is earned not from chasing bonus categories, but from groceries, rent, and coffee shops abroad. That’s the Atmos difference.

Final Verdict: The Best Travel Card for Digital Nomads in 2025?

Atmos Rewards Summit Visa Infinite Card

The Atmos Summit Visa Infinite® isn’t just another premium travel card. It’s the first card that actually feels designed for digital nomads.

Three points on all foreign purchases turns daily life abroad into outsized earning. Status by spend means you can finally reach oneworld elite perks without chasing mileage runs. Redemption sweet spots such as 45K to Europe, 60K to Asia, and 35K to South America stretch your balances further than almost any U.S. competitor. Companion awards, lounge passes, and Visa Infinite protections add practical value you will feel on the road.

And because it runs on the Visa network, the most widely accepted worldwide, you can rely on it whether you’re in a café in Paris, a market in Mexico City, or a coworking space in Bali. For nomads, that universal acceptance is more than convenience; it’s peace of mind.

Pair it with Venture X, and you’ve got a wallet that covers every angle of nomad life: a daily driver that makes groceries and rent as rewarding as business flights, and a global generalist that guarantees lounge access and fee offsets.

Verdict: Yes. If you live abroad and want a card that rewards your lifestyle instead of penalizing it, the Atmos Summit is the best travel credit card you can carry in 2025.

Breaking: Citi ThankYou Points now transferrable to American Airlines

We’ve been waiting for this, and it’s finally here. With the launch of Citi’s newest travel card, ThankYou Points are now transferable to American Airlines AAdvantage at a 1:1 ratio.

Until now, AAdvantage was the only one of the big four U.S. airlines without a major points transfer partner. Delta? Transfer from Amex. United and Southwest? Chase. But American had no option, until now. This opens the door to far more flexibility in finding high-value award seats.

Daydream explorer is great at helping you visualize all the open award availability.

AAdvantage has many low cost redemptions starting at 5k miles as of the time of this search. A quick browse through daydream explorer found over 100 nonstop flights priced at that 5k mile mark.

    Looking to stretch out?

We’re currently seeing First Class seats to Tokyo for around 80,000 AAdvantage miles, on top-tier carriers like Japan Airlines.

Most recent news regarding transfer partners has been negative. This however is great news for users of PointsYeah who now have even more flexibility to book their next trip. Amex Business Platinum review: Massive 200k-point bonus

American Express is a PointsYeah.com Advertiser

So you’re a business owner searching for the perfect travel rewards card? If you’re looking for the cream of the crop, the The Business Platinum Card® from American Express is the creamiest.

The card is stuffed with benefits which can easily be worth well over $1,500 in value each year. And its current welcome bonus is one of the highest we’ve ever seen.

Here’s everything you need to know about the Amex Business Platinum Card — and a quick look at how powerful its rewards can be.

How do American Express Membership Rewards points work?

How to earn American Express Membership Rewards points

The Amex Business Platinum Card offers a strong bonus offer, 200,000 American Express Membership Rewards® points after spending $20,000 on purchases within the first three months from account opening.

You’ll also earn points for your everyday spending at the following rates:

    • 5 points per dollar on flights and prepaid hotels booked on AmexTravel.com
    • 2 points per dollar on purchases at U.S. construction material & hardware suppliers, electronic goods retailers, software & cloud system providers, and shipping providers
    • 2 points per dollar on each eligible purchase of $5,000 or more, up to $2 million per year (only the highest bonus applies if multiple would qualify)
    • 1 point per dollar on all other eligible purchases

How to use American Express Membership Rewards points

There are plenty of fun ways to use Amex Membership Rewards points when you’ve got the Amex Business Platinum Card — but the best options involve travel. For example, you can redeem your points for:

    • Airfare through Amex Travel at a rate of 1 cent each. And when booking business- or first-class seats, you’ll get a 35% rebate on your points (a feature exclusive to the Amex Business Platinum) — effectively making your points worth ~1.5 cents each
    • Hotel stays through Amex Travel at a rate between 0.7 and 1 cent each

But to unlock the most potential from your Amex points, convert them to into airline miles and hotel points.

It’s possible to get exponentially more value from your points by transferring to the below travel partners (transfers are 1:1 unless otherwise specified).

You can use PointsYeah to find flights between your home airport (or anywhere else) to all over the world with Amex points. Just filter your search to display only flights that can be booked with Amex Membership Rewards.

With this card’s 200,000-point bonus, there’s virtually nowhere you can’t go. Here’s a quick snapshot of award prices for flights you can book from the U.S. with Amex points.

You can even use the PointsYeah Hotels tool to find and book fancy hotels with your rewards. When I first opened the Amex Business Platinum Card, I transferred part of its bonus to Hilton for a stay at the Waldorf Astoria Maldives — a resort where villas routinely cost over $2,000 per night!

Is the Amex Business Platinum Card worth a $895 annual fee?

The Amex Business Platinum Card’s $895 annual fee (rates and fees) isn’t the easiest to shrug off. But here’s the thing: Annual fees aren’t as scary as they sound.

As long as you can organically squeeze more value from a credit card’s benefits than you spend on the annual fee, it’s a great deal! Examine the Amex Business Platinum Card’s benefits and then do some simple math.

    Statement credits galore

The Amex Business Platinum Card offers over $1,000 in annual statement credits alone. If you can use even a fraction of them, the card could be a fair deal.

First are the travel-focused credits, such as:

    • Up to $600 in annual credits on prepaid Fine Hotels + Resorts or The Hotel Collection bookings through Amex Travel. You get up to $300 twice per year. The Hotel Collection requires a minimum two-night stay.
    • Up to $200 in annual Hilton For Business credits. Eligible purchases made directly with Hilton properties qualify.
    • Up to $200 in annual airline fee credits. Choose a participating airline and use this to offset charges like checked bags, pet fees, seat upgrades, and more.
    • Up to $209 CLEAR Plus credit per year. CLEAR helps you speed through select airport security checkpoints.

    Terms apply.

    Then there’s the business-focused credits:

    • Up to $120 in annual wireless credits. Get up to $10 per month for wireless telephone service purchases made directly with a U.S. provider.
    • Up to $360 in annual Indeed credits. Receive up to $90 back per quarter for Indeed expenses.
    • Dell Technologies credits. Enroll to get up to $150 in statement credits on U.S. purchases directly with Dell each year, plus an additional $1,000 statement credit after you spend $5,000 or more on that same card per calendar year.
    • Adobe credit. Enroll to get a $250 statement credit after you spend $600 or more on U.S. purchases directly with Adobe per calendar year.

    Enrollment required for some benefits.

Perks to enhance your travel experience

    • Up to $120 in TSA PreCheck/ Global Entry credit. These “trusted traveler” programs get you through airport security in a hurry. You get to keep your shoes and belt on (instead of throwing them in a grungy gray bin) — and you can even keep your laptop and TSA-approved toiletries in your bag. Global Entry also expedites your entry back into the U.S. when returning from abroad.
    • Airport lounge access. No travel card on the market gives you access to more airport lounges than the Amex Business Platinum Card — Over 1,550 airport lounges across 140 countries worldwide. You can visit super fancy Amex Centurion Lounges, Delta Sky Clubs (eligible same-day Delta ticket required), Plaza Premium lounges, Priority Pass lounges*, and more. Airport lounges are a travel game-changer.
    • Access to American Express Fine Hotels & Resorts. You can book over 2,600 top-tier luxury hotels through an exclusive platform to get special benefits like free breakfast for two, room upgrades when available, late checkout, and a property credit (typically worth $100+).
    • Hotel elite status. You’ll get complimentary Gold elite status with both Marriott and Hilton. This comes with perks like bonus rewards on paid stays, welcome amenities, free upgrades when available, and more.*
    • Rental car elite status. Receive Hertz President’s Circle status, National Executive status, and Avis Preferred Plus status.* These come with perks like free upgrades, bonus points on paid reservations, etc.

    * Enrollment required for some benefits.

    High-quality insurance

The Amex Business Platinum Card delivers some of the best travel insurance around. As long as you pay with your card, you’ll be covered. Here are some highlights:

    • Trip delay insurance. When your flight is delayed by at least six hours (or requires an overnight stay), Amex will give you up to $500 for “reasonable expenses” — meals, a night at a hotel, that type of stuff.
    • Trip cancellation/interruption insurance. When you book round-trip travel with your card, you’ll get up to $10,000 in coverage per trip (max $20,000 per 12-month period) to reimburse you for prepaid nonrefundable travel that causes you to cancel or shorten your trip for a covered reason.
    • Rental car insurance. The Amex Business Platinum Card only confers secondary rental car insurance (meaning it’ll cover you for whatever your personal insurance doesn’t). HOWEVER, you can opt into Amex’s Premium Car Rental Protection for a small fee per rental. This gives you primary insurance and more comprehensive coverage than virtually any other card on the market.
    • Cell phone protection. Get up to $800 in cell phone insurance (max two claims per 12-month period) against damage or theft. You’ll just have to pay a $50 deductible. This protection is automatic as long as you pay your monthly phone bill with the Amex Business Platinum Card.

Is the Amex Business Platinum Card right for you?

The Amex Business Platinum Card isn’t for everyone. Even if the card’s benefits easily justify its price point, it’s not exactly painless to pony up the $895 annual fee (rates and fees). Ask yourself these questions to decide if the card is a fit for you.

Can you spend $20,000 within the next three months? To earn the card’s enormous 200,000-point bonus, you’ll have to make $20,000 in purchases within three months. If you can meet that by making purchases you’d normally make (don’t go into debt just to earn points!), the bonus alone is worth trying the card out for a year to see if it complements your business and personal goals.

Are you a big spender? If your business makes a lot of large transactions, the Amex Business Platinum Card is one of the best cards for you. That’s because it’s a No Preset Spending Limit (NPSL) card, meaning you don’t have a firm credit limit. Instead, Amex will learn your spending habits and give you more purchase power when you need it.

Plus, the card earns 2 points per dollar for transactions of $5,000 or more (again, capped at $2 million in spending per year).

Do you fly at least a few times each year? Some of the card’s best benefits are related to air travel. From up to $200 in airline incidental credits to fantastic airport lounge access to trip delay insurance , flyers specifically will squeeze the most value from the Amex Business Platinum Card.

Can you organically use a few of the card’s business-centric cards?

Does the nature of your business take advantage of the card’s many hundreds of dollars worth of annual business credits? If you spend money on services from Indeed or Adobe anyway, the Amex Business Platinum Card is almost certainly a good deal for you.

Is the Amex Business Platinum Card easy to get?

The Amex Business Platinum Card isn’t “hard to get.” If you’ve got a credit score above 700 — and you own a business — you shouldn’t have a difficult time opening this card. Just a couple notes:

    • If you’ve earn the welcome bonus for the Amex Business Platinum Card before, you aren’t eligible to earn it again. Amex abides by a once-in-a-lifetime rule when it comes to card bonuses.
    • You must own a business. Whether it’s a multi-million dollar enterprise or you simply drive for Uber or run an Etsy shop, you must have a for-profit venture to open the Amex Business Platinum Card.

And here’s another fantastic thing about American Express: If you already have an Amex card, American Express can often let you know if you’ll be approved for a card before you formally submit your application. No crossing your fingers after you hit the “Apply Now” button.

    So yeah, that’s the deal

The Amex Business Platinum Card currently offers 200,000 points after meeting minimum spending requirements.

  • Amex Business Gold Card review

    Amex Business Gold Card review

It’s made of heavy metal and it’s gold-colored. It must be good, right?

The American Express® Business Gold Card is one of the best rewards cards for small businesses. It offers hundreds of dollars in statement credits each year; its return rate for common purchases is confusingly high; it’s got a substantial six-figure welcome bonus after meeting minimum spending requirements.

Let’s examine the Amex Business Gold Card to help you decide if it’s a good pickup for your situation.

How do American Express Membership Rewards points work?

How to earn American Express Membership Rewards points

The Amex Business Gold Card comes with 100,000 American Express Membership Rewards® points after spending $15,000 on purchases within the first three months from account opening.

That’s a big deal. Amex points are some of the most valuable travel rewards in existence. With 100,000 points, you can book a bucket list trip to just about anywhere for pennies on the dollar.

The card is also great at earning points on everyday business expenses. Most impressive is its 4 points per dollar on the top two eligible bonus categories in which you spend the most each billing cycle (for up to $150,000 in combined purchases each calendar year, then 1x). Eligible categories include:

    • U.S. purchases at restaurants, including takeout and delivery
    • U.S. purchases at gas stations
    • Transit purchases including trains, taxicabs, rideshare services, ferries, tolls, parking, buses, and subways
    • Monthly wireless telephone service charges made directly from a wireless telephone service provider in the U.S.
    • Purchases at U.S. media providers for advertising in select media (online, TV, radio)
    • U.S. purchases made from electronic goods retailers and software/cloud system providers

This is an above-average return to say the least. You’ll also earn:

    • 3 points per dollar on flights and prepaid hotels booked through AmexTravel.com
    • 1 point per dollar for all other eligible purchases

How to use American Express Membership Rewards points

Amex Membership Rewards points are a potent and easy-to-use tool in your travel utility belt. Here are some popular ways to use them:

    • Transfer them to airline and hotel loyalty programs partnered with American Express (typically the best way to stretch your points the furthest).
    • Book airfare through Amex Travel at a rate of 1 cent each.
    • Book hotel stays through Amex Travel at a rate between 0.7 and 1 cent each.
    • Redeem for cash back at a rate of 0.6 cents each

As award travel enthusiasts, we always suggest that you transfer your points Amex travel partners. You can convert your Amex points into points and miles with the below programs (transfers are 1:1 unless otherwise specified).

PointsYeah will help you to quickly find reasonably priced flights FROM anywhere TO anywhere (try out our Daydream Explorer — it’s totally free).

You can even filter your results to exclusively show seats that you can book with American Express Membership Rewards.

With this card’s 100,000-point bonus, there’s virtually nowhere you can’t go. In fact, you can even go many places in a fancy lie-flat seat.

For example, I was able to book a business class flight on American Airlines between Charlotte (CLT) and Paris (CDG) for just 55,000 Amex points and $19 in fees by transferring points to Hawaiian Airlines* (and onto Alaska Airlines). *Transfer ends 6/30/2025

Is the Amex Business Gold Card worth a $375 annual fee?

The Amex Business Gold Card charges a $375 annual fee (rates and fees). But don’t let that scare you off. It’s astonishingly easy to recoup your money from its valuable perks.

If the below features are worth $375 or more to you, the card is an easy win.

    Annual statement credits

The Amex Business Gold Card has a few easy-to-use statement credits that can save you hundreds each year:

    • Up to $240 in annual “Flexible Business Credit.” You’ll receive up to $20 in monthly statement credits toward eligible U.S. purchases made with FedEx, Grubhub, and office supply stores.*
    • Up to $155 in annual Walmart+ Credit. When you pay for a monthly Walmart+ subscription with your Amex Business Gold, you’ll get up to $12.95 (plus taxes) in credits each month to offset the cost (excludes Walmart’s “Plus Ups” subscription). Walmart+ comes with perks like exclusive discounts, free delivery from the store, and Paramount+.*
    • Amex Offers. Within your American Express online account are digital coupons that you can manually add to your card. These can save you money on purchases you already planned to make. American Express drops new offers all the time, so it’s worth checking back often.*

    *Enrollment required for some benefits

    Travel benefits

The Amex Business Gold Card isn’t overtly a travel card (though it earns American Express Membership Rewards points, which are most powerful when redeemed for travel). Still, the card has a couple noteworthy travel perks:

    • The Hotel Collection. American Express handpicks more than 1,000 upscale hotels that, when booked through Amex Travel, come with elite status-esque benefits like room upgrades (when available) and a $100 property credit per stay. You must book at least two consecutive nights to qualify for these perks.
    • Travel insurance benefits. When you pay for your travel with the Amex Business Gold Card, you’ll get trip delay insurance, rental car insurance, baggage insurance, and more.

    0% intro APR offer

The card offers 0% intro APR on purchases for the first six months from account opening, then 18.49% – 27.49% variable (see rates). Handy for those who foresee some business expenses that’ll need floated for a few months.

Is the Amex Business Gold Card right for you?

The Amex Business Gold Card is easily worth its annual fee for many — but not all. If you answer yes to even one of the below questions, chances are it’s a good deal for your lifestyle.

Can you spend $15,000 within the next three months? To earn the card’s enormous 100,000-point bonus, you’ll have to spend $15,000 on purchases within the first three months from account opening. If you can achieve that with purchases you’d normally make, the bonus alone is motivation enough to give the card a test run. If you decide after a year that it’s not worth paying the annual fee, you can cancel or downgrade it in 12 months.

Do you spend a lot in the card’s 4x categories?

Earning 4 points per dollar is a nearly unprecedented return. If your business spends just a couple thousand bucks per month in categories like U.S. restaurants and U.S. gas stations, you could earn around 100,000 bonus points each year.

Will the card’s statement credits actually save you money?

The card’s up to $20 in monthly credit toward merchants like Grubhub and FedEx can be as good as cash to those who already make those types of purchases. Same goes for the monthly Walmart+ credits. If you already subscribe to Walmart+, it’s an effortless money saver.

Is the Amex Business Gold Card easy to get?

The Amex Business Gold is reasonably easy to get as long as your credit score is good (preferably 700+) and you’re a business owner.

If you’ve already got an American Express card, Amex will likely let you see if you’re approved for the card before you formally apply. That way you won’t incur a hard credit inquiry for nothing.

    So yeah, that’s the deal

The Amex Business Gold Card currently comes with 100,000 bonus points after meeting minimum spending requirements. In the rewards credit card world, this bonus is far above average.

If you’re a business owner (whether you operate a coffee shop or you’re simply an Instacart delivery driver), the Amex Business Gold Card could be a fantastic addition to your wallet. It earns points quickly, and its ongoing benefits can save business owners serious money.

  • Capital One Venture X Review

    Capital One Venture X Review

You know all the makings of a premium travel credit card: It’s made of shiny metal; it comes with fancy perks like airport lounge access; it offers hundreds of dollars in travel-related statement credits per year; it’s got an eye-watering annual fee.

The Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card fits the bill as an unquestionable premium travel rewards card — but with an annual fee that’s considerably lower than its competitors. In fact, because of its effortlessly valuable yearly benefits, the card’s fee is effectively zero.

Even better, the card earns super valuable (and super easy-to-use) rewards. This makes it a great option for anyone who travels even semi-regularly, whether you’re an award travel veteran or you’re just entering the world of miles and points.

How do Capital One miles work?

How to earn Capital One miles

The Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card comes with an intro offer of 75,000 bonus miles after spending $4,000 on purchases within the first three months from account opening.

The card also has a high earning rate for everyday purchases:

    • 10 miles per dollar on hotels and rental cars booked through Capital One Travel
    • 5 miles per dollar on airfare and vacation rentals booked through Capital One Travel
    • 5 miles per dollar on Capital One Entertainment purchases
    • 2 miles per dollar on all other eligible purchases

Up to 10X miles is beyond impressive. But the star of the show is its base 2X return rate. No matter how unusual your spending habits, you’re guaranteed to get a good return for your swipes.

When it comes to travel credit cards, this earning structure is as straightforward as it gets.

How to use Capital One miles

Capital One gives you a few basic ways to redeem your rewards. You can:

    • Convert points into airline miles or hotel points with Capital One travel partners, such as Avianca and JetBlue.
    • “Erase” travel purchases you make with your card up to 90 days later at a rate of 1 cent each. You can redeem your miles for transactions like flights, hotels, public transit, even campgrounds.

We’re a bit biased (and correct) when we say that converting your miles into airline and hotel rewards is hands-down the best way to use your points. It gives you the potential to book exponentially more travel than those other two options.

For example, if you were to purchase the below $161 United flight from Eugene (EUG) to Phoenix (PHX), you’d spend 16,100 Capital One miles to “erase” the transaction. But by transferring Capital One miles to Avianca, the flight would cost just 7,500 miles and $5.60 in fees.

Here’s a chart of the airline and hotel programs that partner with Capital One. All transfers are 1:1 unless otherwise specified.

    Accor Live Limitless (2:1)EmiratesSingapore Airlines

No matter where you want to go, a Capital One partner can get you there — and PointsYeah can help you to quickly find a suitable award seat. Enter your origin and destination into the PointsYeah search bar and filter results to only show Capital One partners. We’ll take care of the rest.

Or, if you aren’t exactly sure where you want to go, you can use the Daydream Explorer tool to enter countries or continents (or even all of Earth) as your destination and see what jumps out at you.

Is the Capital One Venture X worth a $395 annual fee?

The Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card charges a $395 membership fee — but again, travelers may consider this card to be no-annual-fee. If you travel even once per year, the card can pay for itself without breaking a sweat. Here’s why.

    Yearly bonuses

The Capital One Venture X comes with two incredibly useful annual rewards that post to your account after each cardmember anniversary, which make your annual fee effectively to zero:

    • Up to $300 in travel credit to be redeemed through Capital One Travel for flights, hotel stays, rental cars, etc. (you’ll also get this credit upon account opening)
    • 10,000 bonus Capital One miles (beginning on your first account anniversary)

These perks alone can offset the $395 annual fee for even the intermittent traveler. The 10,000 bonus miles alone can be enough for a round-trip flight to lots of fun destinations (read our guide to where you can go with 5,000 miles or less).

    Access to airport lounges

You’ve probably seen fancy airport lounges dotted throughout the concourse during your travels. But you may not know how easy they are to get into.

With the Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card, you can enter over 1,300 airport lounges around the world. Airport lounges often come with free food and alcohol, fast Wi-Fi, tons of electrical outlets, and sometimes even showers and children’s play areas.

The card confers access to Capital One Lounges, a collection of upscale lounges, as well as Capital One’s new restaurant-first concept — Capital One Landing. You’ll also get to use lounges within the ubiquitous Priority Pass lounge network. And you can bring two guests for free.

And get this: Even Venture X authorized users will get their own airport lounge access. You can add up to four authorized users for free.

    Expedited airport security experience

Every four years, the Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card gives you up to $120 in credit to reimburse you for the application fee to “trusted traveler” programs TSA PreCheck and Global Entry.

TSA PreCheck costs $78 for a five-year membership. It gives you the ability to (practically) sprint through the domestic airport security checkpoints without having to remove your shoes or belt — or even take your laptop out of your bag. Plus, you’ll go through an exclusive security lane that processes much faster.

Global Entry costs $120 for a five-year membership. It helps you to skip the immigration line when entering the U.S. from overseas. Instead of getting grilled by an immigration officer, just find a dedicated kiosk and it’ll quickly confirm your identity. Global Entry also comes with TSA PreCheck privileges.

    Excellent travel insurance

The Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card is an all-time great when it comes to protecting your travel purchases. Its insurance will automatically activate when you pay for your travel with the card.

    Here’s what you’ll get:

    • Primary rental car insurance. When renting a car, the card covers up to $75,000 against theft or damage. You don’t even have to tell your personal insurance provider about the accident — so your premiums won’t be affected at all.
    • Trip delay reimbursement. When your trip is delayed by at least six hours or requires an overnight stay, you’ll get up to $500 per ticket toward “reasonable” expenses. This can include a hotel room, meals at a restaurant, a phone charger, and more.
    • Trip cancellation and interruption insurance. Whether you’ve got to cut your trip short or cancel it before it begins, you can be reimbursed up to $2,000 per person for nonrefundable prepaid travel. Eligible reasons include injury or death of an immediate family member or if the carrier on which you’re traveling goes bankrupt.
    • Lost luggage reimbursement. Get up to $3,000 when the common carrier (airline, cruise ship, ferry, bus, etc.) loses your luggage.
    • Travel accident insurance. You’ll receive up to $1 million in coverage against accidental loss of life, limbs, sight, speech, or hearing if the tragedy is the common carrier’s fault.

Trust me, these perks are better than what the vast majority of travel credit cards offer. If you travel regularly, you’ll get good use from these (but fingers crossed that you miraculously never need to use them!).

    Cell phone protection

When you pay your monthly cell phone bill with the Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card, your phone is covered for up to $800 against damage or theft(max two claims and $1,600 in coverage per 12-month period).

    Top-tier Hertz elite status

Hertz’s highest level of status is called President’s Circle — and it’s complimentary with the Capital One Venture X (though you’ve got to enroll your card). Without the card, you’d have to either complete 15 rentals or spend $3,000 with Hertz in a calendar year.

President’s Circle comes with perks like:

    • 50% bonus points on paid rentals
    • Guaranteed upgrades
    • A dedicated customer service line

Get special access to restaurants and events

Capital One caters heavily to dining and entertainment. It partners with some restaurants to help you land a reservation even when the joint is fully booked. Its Capital One Dining platform also hosts special experiences like cooking classes with prominent chefs.

And through Capital One Entertainment, you can book super popular music and sporting events and experiences through presale opportunities — so you can be one of the first to buy.

Is the Capital One Venture X right for you?

A $395 annual fee isn’t exactly a pittance. To decide if the Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card is worth the price point, ask yourself these simple questions.

Do you fly a couple times each year? With its myriad air travel-related protections and its airport lounge access, the Capital One Venture X is especially valuable for flyers. You’re neglecting a lot of value if you don’t find yourself in an airport at least once or twice per year.

Do you book travel through online travel agencies? When you book airfare, hotel stays, or rental cars, do you use a website like Expedia or Priceline? If so, you’ll make good use of the card’s up to $300 in annual travel credit — since it can only be redeemed through Capital One Travel. Plus, the Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card earns tons of bonus miles when you pay for travel through this platform.

Do you like road-tripping? The Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card is one of the best credit cards to use for renting a car thanks to its top-notch travel insurance and its 10X return rate for car rentals through Capital One Travel. It even offers the highest level of Hertz elite status (though you typically won’t get rental car elite status perks when booking via Capital One Travel — you’ll have to book directly with Hertz).

Is the Capital One Venture X easy to get?

Again, the Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card is a premium travel credit card. But it’s not notoriously hard to get. Here are some guidelines to follow:

    • Maintain a good credit score. We recommend that you not apply for this card unless your credit score is at least 720. While there may be anecdotal evidence of folks being approved with a lower score, a 720+ score gives you the best chance.
    • 48-month rule. If you’ve earned the welcome bonus on a Capital One Venture X within the past 48 months, you won’t be eligible to earn it again.
    • 1/6 rule. Capital One usually won’t approve you for more than one credit card application within a six-month period.

    So yeah, that’s the deal

The Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card is a premium credit card with a more accessible annual fee. And because the fee can so easily be offset with perks like airport lounge access, $300 in annual travel credit, and 10,000 yearly bonus miles, the Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card is an easy win for just about every traveler.
